A man identified as Alex Babalola has been caught with a human
head meant for rituals.
A twenty-five-year-old man, Alex Babalola, has been arrested
with a human head by the men of the Police Command in Asese,
Magboro area of Ogun State.
According to the Tribune, the suspect, an indigene of Ondo
State, was arrested by the operatives of the Federal Special Anti
Robbery Squad (FSARS), on Thursday afternoon.
Babalola was arrested following a tip-off by a member of the
public who saw the suspect and his partner in the bush with the
human head. The man who saw them raised an alarm after which
the suspect was apprehended. His partner however escaped arrest
and is currently on the move.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer,
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the FSARS operatives swung into action based
on the information and discovered human head in a sack carried
by Babalola.
The suspect was reported to have confessed to the crime, saying
the human head was meant for money ritual. He didn’t give
details on how they came about the head, but upon further
investigation, he revealed that the head was actually meant for a
herbalist within the community and that they were only meant to
deliver the severed head to him.
Efforts to arrest the herbalist were futile as it seemed he had
gotten information about the arrest of the suspect and taken to
his heels.
The head of the community, Chief Kasumu Sonola, was said to
have commended the FSARS team for their quick response and
routine patrol of the area. He complained bitterly of the action
of hoodlums and touts within his community. He also went
further to complain on how they have been terrorizing the
members of the community.
He however urged the police operatives to intensify the patrol in
order to rid the area of criminals. The community leader also
admonished members of his community to be vigilant and report
every criminal activity they notice within the community.
